I got lost in the Naruto fandom. *sheepish look* It's a very large fandom and it's very easy to get lost in it. I've finally started pulling myself out of it, only to remember I wanted Thor fanfiction because of Loki, which is really the only reason anyone should need. Oddly, while I'm enjoying reading in that fandom, I'm not yet inspired to write for it. My writing has actually been going to The Lost Ones. That, and I've become addicted the new My Little Pony, although not yet to the point of reading fanfiction. At this rate, I'll never get anything done.

Anyways, it's been way too long since I posted anything on here, so I'm going to do that wip meme that's going around:

1. Go to page 77 (or 7) of your current ms.
2. Go to line 7
3. Copy down the next 7 lines – sentences or paragraphs – and post them as they’re written.
4. Inspire your subscribers to do it too.

“We died, Wendy. Don't you remember?”
“No! No, you're not dead!” I denied.
“Then why didn't Mother and Father see us?” John asked softly. Hope gripped me. Mother had still been gripped by a dream until she'd been distracted. I turned and ran down the hall.
“Mother! Mother, we're home!” I entered my parents' bedroom and went to where Mother sat by a bassinet, nursing my little sister.
“Mother?” I asked when she didn't respond. I reached out to her, but stopped before making contact when I realized I could see her through my hand. It wasn't just John and Michael my brother had been referring to.
“No,” I whispered before despair and rage swept through me. “No! It's not true! It's not!”
I ran through the house. My hands went through Father, who didn't even flinch while shaving. Nana was nowhere to be found inside or out, and I ignored the little voice in my head that said, Of course not. Father got rid of her after...

For those of you who don't remember, or don't read my LJ, The Lost Ones is my attempt at a professional version of what is, essentially, Peter Pan fanfiction. I start with the general assumption that the original story happened, but that one of the early interpretations - that Peter's a psychopomp (which Barrie pretty much confirms in story) and it's a dead child story - is true and thus continue the story after the original ends. I'm not yet at page 77, so that's page 7. I'm not terribly certain how well I'm doing with an early 20th century British voice, although setting the spellchecker to British English is probably helping.

Oh, if anyone wants to read the original story, it's online here: James Barrie's Peter Pan. I recommend it. Too many people are used to the Disney version (which I've never liked) and the original story's actually a bit darker than you'd think.

First Post!

Thank you, [personal profile] wyomingnot, for the invite! *hugs and pets*

On a different note, I saw a sign at Jimmy John's when picking up something to eat and just had to grin. It said, "We'd love to see you naked, but state law requires shirt and shoes."

Also, The 16 Most Overrated Sexual Acts. I'm tempted to challenge people to write realistic stories in the comment section of this post using that list. Hell, why not. The comment space is supposed to be good-sized. Have at!
