Out of curiosity, is it possible to upload only certain posts from another journal using the importer? There are some things on LJ I'd like to bring over (namely fic and essays so they're all in one place), but I'm not interested in bringing over the many quizzes and memes I've done over the years, you know? There's a reason I never really bothered with the tagging in my LJ.

There isn't, no -- the way that other LJ sites export the data to us prevents us from doing it really easily, so we're kinda limited that way. Unfortunately!

You might want to try setting your journal's minimum security level to Private here, importing everything (which will import them all as private entries), then going back and unlocking just the entries you want public. That might be easiest.

Wow. Thanks for replying. Unfortunately, I have more stuff I'd be unwilling to share than I would in that case. I might end up just copying the few things I do want to bring over and linking back to the original post.
