hominysnark, who is witty, funny, snarky, and an incredible artist. She's the one who made the awesome Virgin Sacrifice icon that I so gladly pimp for her. In fact, she makes a living selling her art. Since she's self-employed, she doesn't make enough to afford health insurance and she's now in a spot of trouble. She needs a hysterectomy for reasons better explained right here, but the long and short of it is that if she doesn't get what is a relatively simple surgery done soon, her condition will become life threatening. There's a OBY/GYN willing to do it quickly - if she slaps down $2700 up-front. She doesn't have that kind of money, especially not since our broken health care system just slapped her with an $8000 bill for the diagnosis. She needs our help, and she needs it fast.
